When Moves Get Automated

I didn’t do anything. At least, not consciously

I only wanted to play football…

I’m still in Switzerland at my in-laws, and some members of the extended family have kids.

So we decided to play football together.

Even though I have none of my own nor do I want kids, I have a way with them. I can get incredibly silly and they all love it, no exception so far.

So I wanted to become a silly defence ninja.

And with my depiction of utter silliness came the Eskrima move of the female triangle.

I didn’t realize I was doing it, since I was just being silly.

But some videos later proved it.

It was the female triangle, but a fast version of it. And yes, everything was there. The moves of the feet, the hands, the distances.

Dang.

I didn’t expect movements from my training to creep through my daily life. At least not so early.

But here we are. I love it!

I’ll keep on training and see what else will come out of it and find its way to non-training things. I may someday unconsciously apply Wing Chun’s way of turning my feet (heels turning, not points).

Who knows.

I just wanted to share this so that I won’t forget it.

Lesson of the day: keep training. The results will come in both expected and unexpected ways.
